Megan was hired as an intern and it was evident in days that she had incredible growth potential. Within weeks of arriving, we were seeking ways to keep her around past her internship. She can seemingly learn anything – we've had to consistently give her harder projects in order to challenge her. While still an Associate designer, she took over the Design System when it was still in its infancy. In a matter of weeks, Megan was the team expert in components. The other 10 designers relied on her expertise in Sketch, InVision, and the Design System to ensure they were on brand and consistent across multiple products as we worked to evolve the overall experience.

Over the course of the following year, she explored design tools, made a business case to move us to the best technology option for the team, managed her own backlog, worked with engineering to begin developing the components in code, created a complete set of components using Atomic Design principles, and did it all with a smile and collaborative spirit. Megan is incredibly easy to work with – her kindness and energy are infectious, but she also knows her stuff. Give her something she doesn't know how to do on a Monday and by Friday she is an expert.

Being around Megan made me better. She has incredible potential and makes others better at their jobs too. That she came to design after doing other things proved a benefit – her well-rounded experience made her a great Design System leader. I know I'm not alone in saying this too. Ask anyone who has worked with Megan and they'll tell you how great it is to have her as a teammate.
